Engine noise, unsolvable in 5th gen 'cord....

My CRX has done this for years... Different amps, decks, I changed the grounds, RCAs, just about everything I could think of... Someone on another forum suggested getting a ground loop isolator... So I just bid on one now on eBay... I so hope it works... Cuz this has been driving me nuts! Ill let u know if it does...

you could try putting noise filters on the power wires going into the radio. it sometimes solves issues like this. i usually use the ones that come with mobile video units and certain alpine radios.

thanks exempt, that'd be great! My friend with the same problem, same amp etc, has actually lost the noise now - as he suggests because his alternator is "worn in" now, and not generating as much power. I was advised to buy a "can supressor" which I did, but could not, for the life of me figure out where the hell it was supposed to fit.

Man, I got that ground loop isolator in the mail today, installed it, and it works! If your still having problems, and still cant find a solution, get one of those! Only cost me $10 on eBay... Might even be able to get them at radioshak...
And WiLL, yes filters will filter out some sound, so the amp gets less of a signal, but its the amps job to amplify it... It can take a weak signal and make it much louder than it actually is...

where do you connect it?
Behind the radio or onto the amp?
