I don't use the stock antenna on my 5th gen accord or my 04 Chevy. On the accord I am running a Euro style (VW, BMW, Audi) roof mount antenna. With that I get great reception. On the 04 Chevy I am running a autoloc interrior mounted antenna. It is placed on the bottem driver side of my window and the reception on it is fine. Hope this helps some. Any other questions feel free to ask.
