9005/9006 SilverStar conversion...

i've gotta change my position on the silverstars. one of my 9005 conversions blew out tonight after 11 months of light to moderate use. both bulbs have black, burn-like marks on opposite sides. the GE superblues are still going strong in my mom's accord after 12+ months and heavier use than the silverstars. i picked up some superblues on the way home to replace the silverstars, at half the cost.
by the way, the fact that 9005s are rated 10 watts higher than 9006s doesn't mean that the 9005s will burn out faster because they "have less watts." the way it works is that the 9005s have the higher power rating because they draw more current at the same voltage. this is why people who have 80+ watt bulbs melt their harnesses. they are running the same voltage but the bulbs want more current than the wiring can handle, so the wiring melts.
