Creaking Moonroof Shade, How Do I Fix This?
I have an 01 EX Accord (5-spd) with a creaky moonroof shade. I took it back under warranty and they fixed it, but it's back after a little over a year. I really would hate to take it to the dealership, since they (no doubt) will fleece me. Not to mention, the problem came back after a year or so.
I'm sure the problem is simple to fix, just difficult to access. Does anyone have a more permanent fix action? I don't want to do this more than once.
Thanks
Jake

They use sound deadening foam. It must've dried up. Go back to the dealer to do it again under the 12k mile/12 month warranty for repairs. If you can't get the warranty, ask for some of the sound deadening foam tape and do it yourself. Make sure you do a good job cleaning and applying it.

Is it the moon-roof shade or the moon-roof glass itself?
Try lubricating the rubber weather stripping around the moon-roof with some rubber/plastic approved lubricants. Its available at the dealer too.
I apply this every so many miles and I have no more creeks.

I really think it’s the shade. It creaks when it’s open and doesn’t when I shut it. The closed shade may be simply muting the sound, but I really believe it's the shade itself.
During cornering or anytime the body flexes, you can faintly hear it creaking. When the wife and I drive around together, we normally have the stereo turned off, that's when I notice it. Doesn't bug her, but drives me nuts.
I'll try lubing the mechanical parts and the seals. Hope that works. Thanks for the suggestions guys.
