Default CV joint clicking

I know my CV joint is clicking. It is causing a lot of vibration during accleration only.
What will be happen if I leave as that? Is it going to affect normal driving. What is the role of the CV shaft/joint?

ur axles are shot. dirt and debris have gotten in and all the grease that was caked in the cv boot has probably all leak out. ride it long enough, the axle can snap.

heh, what do you think is going to happen ? . Bonestock is right, it'll eventually snap in half. You have a very nasty repair bill ahead of you.

Sucks for you. You should all watch your damn CV boots guys, its not hard, and only like a $225 repair for the boots (outer only, only neccessary ones). Now you have a $500 dollar repair replacing both CV axles.

Detroit: where'd you get that?

Anyhow, no a car PROBABLY woudln't flip unless really weird circumstances arose (say it snaps right in the middle of a 90mph turn at an autocross and the driver loses control? or some other very silly and almost impossible senario). Anyhow, the result would likely be just a very very ticked off driver at a stop light or driveway, or perhaps a sudden "no power" in the passing lane going 80mph on a major interstate......*wreck*...

ya, basically, get that stuff fixed now.

I replaced my drivers side driveshaft for $65 after core return. Took me just under 3 hours to do the job myself. Makes a world of difference!!
