Default Questions on installing intake on a 5th gen EX??

Well, I'm new to the Accord world (Prelude person) and was looking at how exactly my CAI will go in on my 5th gen EX auto(if that makes any diff. not an auto guy, either) anyway, I have removed the resonater box, and what's left is the filter box, intake tube, and little secondary tube coming back off the bottom of the intake, leading to a box w/ a wiring harness plugged into it, and a few vaccum lines. What should I do w/ the harness/vaccum lines once I get the CAI installed? Thanx!!

all hoses should route into the new intake ... there's nubs that you attach them to.

The hose that runs along the firewall should be capped. All the hoses and crap that run into the "black box" should be removed. In addition to removing the black box. Unplug the electical connector, tape it, and find a place to tuck it or tie wrap it. Check out this thread. https://www.honda-acura.net/forums/s...ghlight=intake

Is a breather valve really necessary?

You either need the breather, or the little foam piece that AEM gives you.

Yeah, I just found out about it myself. I just intstalled an AEM intake on my 5th gen. After some research I found that there actually is air entering through there, so if you don't have the foam piece or a breather valve (I've heard some negative things on breather valves) you are allowing unfiltered air into your engine. I attached the foam to the hose that originally ran out of that hole.
