Default Finally got LOW but I have a few problems!!!

I decided to just buy lowering springs. Since I wanted this done this weekend I went to NOPI to pick up some Neuspeed springs but they sold me Eibach Sportlines for the same price instead. The Eibachs say they drop F2.0" and R2.0" as well. After a painful installation of the front springs, my friend T.J. and I called it a day and drove the car home from the carport we used. (approx 2mile dist.) I smelled something funny when we got out but since it was late we got drunk and forgot about it. The next morning when I parked the car at the carport I noticed a hissing sound from front left shock. It was spurting out Oil!!!!! It smelled just like the stuff I smelled the other night. SUre enough both left and right shocks were busted.

So we are driving back to Nopi to get some Koni yellows but instead they have Tokico illuminas =(. Now down to the chase. Since we knew how to install everything from the prior day the install of Tokico's went smooth and the rear was a piece of cake. Now here is my problem:

The front dropped 1 inch and the rear dropped around 2inches as advertised. I can fit 3 fingers between tire and fender up front but i can't squeeze in 2 at the rear. WTF is going on. I would want the front lower if anything. Now my car looks stock with a trunk full of lead. I hope the drop is not too much for the Tokico shocks.

I have heard of all this prase about upgraded suspension, but I think its the worst $700 i have ever spent. Something is just not right. I'm sure we did the install correctly but maybe those parts just don't like each other.

Well the 6th gen accord naturally has a bit more wheel gap up front than rear. Stock, it's about an inch more gap I'd say. So that may be throughing you off. :idunno: Did the drop change from the stock shocks to the tokico's?

Once you get it worked out, you'll like it. I have the H&R sports and Koni Yellows and I love it.

Sucks about having to do it twice though.

So what do u suggest I do? I don't want to buy more parts!!! If I knew all this was gonna happen I would have bought the H&R and koni combo from the net. Now I have no room for ride height adjustability on the Tokico's. I'll get some pics up soon.

Ride dropped slightly from stock to tokico. Maybe by fractions of an inch. I can only say that about the front since the ack got the suspension combo from the getgo

Well I guess if you don't like it you can return the shocks and say that it made your drop uneven.

Did you like the drop before the shocks?

Koni Yellow SP3's that I have allow you some adjustment in ride height, but you have decide where you set it before you assemble the spring/shock together. I'm currently at the stock position in the rear, and .25" lower up front. Ending up with about a 2" drop up front and 1.5" in rear.

If you want to be real safe about getting the exact drop you want you could try and take all your stuff back and get some Teins with height adjustability.

Ground control springs with the adjustable sleeve would be a cheaper option if you end up keeping the tokico shocks.

Problem solved: The good guys at Nopi sold me springs for a 6cyl. The i4 doesn't have the weight to bring them down. I don't know how they do it but nopi always manages to f something up. Last time I ordered from them it was a clutch for my 98 civic hatch. Coilovers for a cavalier showed up at my door step and my clutch went off to Ohio! I hope I will be more satisfied with my setup when I put on the correct springs

Glad to hear you got the spring issue sorted out.
I was kinda worried, but glad to hear its a wrong part issue. I'm a real fan of Eibach's best mod I ever installed

I would have went for the Pro-kits though. Your ride must looked slammed.

I don't know if it looks slammed yet. The front is quite high although the back is a bit scarry. I'm thinking the 2" won't be bad at all. Looking at jschmid's car the drop is nice and not slammed. I'm sure my ride height will be comparable to his.
