no speedo cable in 90+ accords (not sure about 89-). vss's are known to fail

I'm also having the same problem. I wanted to ask if it is the VSS, should you get a CEL?

I don't get a CEL, is why i asked. Didn't want to replace it before i was sure.

I went ahead & replaced the VSS and all is well. The check engine light didn't turn on right away, it took driving it for about 1/2 hour before it popped on. Thanx for all the help!
