OK this has only happened twice, but both times it was going around a corner, pretty fast, downshifting to second, and the noise happens right around the midway point of the turn right after i fully let out my clutch. It sounds like a spring disengaging, like it had tention on it, and all of a sudden it disengages, that kind of a violent SPROING noise.... I can hear it with my music up, so it must be loud, and both times the passangers in my car said "WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT?" so im hoping it just some stupid thing like a peice of my suspention hitting somthing, but it sounds like its comin from right under my feet up in the front, i dont know what it is, and if anyone has any ideas let me know.

You might want to carefully inspect all your suspension bushings & ball joints. A friend of mine had something like that on his old VW Rabbit. Turned out that a mounting point where the LCA bolted to the floorpan was rusting & pulling out. One day it let loose while he was driving...

in my old car (mx6), i would hear a knock if a passenger is sitting and turn the corner too fast. I assumed shocks were going. they compress and then they let go all of sudden instead smoothly expanding...

 

Hmmm, that could be since its only happened when somone is sittin over there
