Default Hmm, tire dilemma

Alrighty...Well I'm ordering my new wheels Friday and I can't decide on tires for winter/fall/driving around.

Here in VA, the winters are very harsh, and when it snows...I don't drive anyway, so I don't need Blizzaks are tire chains. I also want a tire to perform pretty well in rain and dry and take the turns at moderate speeds well. These aren't going to be track wheels. My Azeni's and EX wheels are for the spring.

I've decided on a tire size. 215/55/16, and I've narrowed it down to 2 choices from Tire Rack. I get a discount there, so...I'm shopping there.

Kumho Ecsta KH11 or Kumho Ecsta 712's.

Which would you go with...on a set of 16's. (You'll see which ones later)

sure u dont wanna go w/ 215/50/16? 215/55/16's are large in diameter. You might want to see if they clear the rear suspension arm.

I've been told they will. Most people recommend the 55series.

why? 215/50/16 is still bigger diameter than stock, 215/55/16 is large... a little over an inch larger in diameter than stock i believe.

why would you want 16s in the winter when you have 15s for summer?? wouldn't you want it the other way around??

the appropriate size would be 205 50 16s if you plan on driving them in snow. wider is not better for snow.

We don't get much snow...and if we do, I don't drive. I want wheels because I can afford them. The 15's are for the spring/track, 16's for cruising and such.
