Default Rechargin my AC?

My AC still works right now but it seems like every car shoots out colder air then mine. I want to get my AC recharged, but should i do it myself with one of those kits or let a shop do it? I'd like to use the kit but Im not even sure if i can recharge it without looking at the pressure first. Is there someway to tell without buying the kit if it needs to be recharged?

Just remember, the A/C system is a sealed system. So if you are low, or have a leak, you can recharge it temporarily. But it will leak again. Sooner or later you'll need to get it diagnosed and fix the leak.

Yeah thats true, but even if there is no leak after 10 years it can lose some of its charge. It happened to my dads 87 sentra....he just recharged it last year with some r-12 and there was never a leak, it was just low.
