Default Starting problems, need help...

For starters I have a 1998 Accord Coupe 4 cyl. The problem is that the car will start up but then all of a sudden just die out. The RPM guage will go up when it starts up like it normally would and then drop down to 0 and shuts the car off. I have to press on the gas to get the car to acutally stay on. I don't know what the problem is, I haven't done anything new to it besides installing coilovers and a new strut. I can't seem to figure out what the problem is so I need all your help. Thanks in advance

there was a recall on the 6th gen ignitions, did you get that work done? Could be part of your problem:dunno: Couldn't hurt even if it's not related.

Where did you see this recall at? I thought the recall was for 5th gen not 6th.

I had Honda replace the ignition switch already and it still gives me the same problem. What else should I check before I take it in to have them throughly check it.

ummm, im taking a wild guess but try chainging the fuel filter? maybe its clogged and not enough gas is going to your engine. Do you smell gas when you rev the engine to keep it started?

Am I supposed to smell gas becasue I don't. Isn't the fuel filter supposed to last a life time? That's what people said on this forum.

not really. you should change it every 30,000 miles or so. you can do it yourself but its dangerous. you can prolly get it done at a shop for about 50. just curious how many miles u have? this is just a guess tho, but i would try it.
