Did an indicated 138 MPH in my Accord
So I'm doing 80-85 on the Thruway and this black car comes up fast from behind without headlights at dusk...It's a Porsche Carrera 4S, brand new, absolutely beautiful. Kid driving it was like 25. So I pull out and follow him. We get up to 100 or 110 in the light traffic...then I think he tried to lose me. Didn't work. I got up to an indicated 138 ****ing miles per hour before I shut it down. I still had room left. I suspect I was doing more in the area of 130-135. Then he made me lead for awhile, but I didn't have the balls to do 110 consistently. I only did like 95. So he got pissed and took lead again. Towards Amsterdam, where I was exiting, we're doing 90-100 and my V1 starts going ballistic. Ka directly ahead. I slam on the brakes and duck behind a semi in the right hand lane. The Porsche continued on, passed the cop in the U-Turn about a mile from where I first got a warning and got NAILED. Lights flashing, siren blaring, pulled over on the left side of the road. Then I took my V1 down and kissed it. End of story. That damn radar detector has saved me from so many tickets h:
That was the first time I had ever been following someone and they got nailed by a cop. It was a really great feeling...I felt little pity for the kid in the Porsche

I am a safe driver. But I got carried away :rick:
My car is comfortable cruising at 120...I was able to tune the radio and listen to the Yankee game. My car was accelerating at the same rate of speed from 120 to 138...I think I could have hit 140. Indicated.

I90 worries me because of all the radar traps...I've seen too many instant-on traps. Once I never dropped below 100 except when my radar detector went off and made it from Albany to Syracuse in 90 minutes. It was crazy :loco:
I usually never drop below 80-85 on I90...it's really frustrating to do below 80 on my GD-D3's...they are most comfortable at around 100-105 MPH.
BTW, have you ever been on 29A right on the border of the southern Adirondacks? What a fun road. Absolutely perfect when cruising at 70-75 I grew up in Saratoga so I used to go up to 8 all the time.
f95: You're damn right on 1 and 2. If you really think 3, I want you to remember the last time you've been to the World Series and how many times the Yankees have kicked your ass in the ALCS :fawk: I have a Yankees license plate too
