Default Modify the 03 Accord Power Outlets??

I just picked up a 2003 Accord EX-V6 and I'm disappointed that both 12v outlets are tied to the ignition. In other words, they only come on when the key is in the On or Acc position.

Has anyone modified one or both of the outlets to always have power? There are lots of times when I want to charge my phone while the car is off.

I need to open up the fuse box and see what I find. Does anyone know if the outlets are on their own fuse? If so, I think it would be easy to modify it so it had power all the time.

Any suggestions? Thanks.

you have to directly wire the outlets to the battery. then it'll always have power. i'm not too sure how smart that is though ... it'll put a constant drain on it.

it will only put a constant drain on the battery if something is drawing power from the socket (cell phone charger, radar detector, etc)

don't wire direct to the battery. find a hot lead somewhere near the fusebox and tap that. USE A FUSE! especially important with power sockets that could have anything at all plugged into them...or could have something small and metallic dropped into them connecting the positive tip contact and ground sleeve.

I once hit my sub wire to the power socket by accident and blew a fuse. h:
