Default Lowering and Gas milage

Hey guys. Just got my car lowered. I was wondering did your gas mileage change because of being lower or your camber. My camber in the front is-1.0 and-1.1 but my rear is -1.5 I am doing the washer trick to adjust that. Can I kiss my getting 340 plus gas mileage goodbye??

I wouldn't think there'd be a noticable difference....if anything you have less wind resistance no? :chuckles: I guess if you have very noticable camber problems it may affect how the tires roll....which could slow you down requiring the use of more gas....:dunno:

lowering causes negative camber. compared to zero camber at stock height, it's conceivable that his mileage could improve a tad, as there's less friction due to a reduced tyre contact patch.

but you wouldnt notice it.

put some 17s and 40/45 tires on, then push your car in neutral.
put your stock 15s and 60/65 tires on, then push your car. you will see that it's a hell of a lot easier to roll car with 17s. even with the stock tires fully inflated, it's still a big mushy balloon and you will get crappy gas mileage..that's my theory...and the overall wheel diamter will affect your MPG too.

Also I just noticed that my gas light is coming on earlier then it's suppose too. By lowering have I change the flow of gas going too the car and is there a way that I can remedy it. I don't want to drive till my needle reaches the regular point and be in a world of trouble.

Also are you saying that if I got 17 inch rims that my gas mileage would increase back up??

As long as the tires are properly inflated I don't see where it could make such a decrease in mpg. You have alot of mods and your getting over 320 mpg. That's pretty good to me looking at the mods you have. In other words I personally wouldn't worry about it.

That's good to know but I am still wondering y the hell my gas light is on and I know I can get more out of the tank. I don't know if I want to push it or not. I just clean my air K&N air filter. If any of that oil get's in the engine can it hurt the engine?

Also I did what yldstyleviet said and tried to push the car, damn its harder to push her then before. I am thinking about putting more psi's in the tires also. But they recommend 32 so I guess I will keep it at 32.

ok i'm not stealing your thread i swear...... but to everyone who has a dropped car.... DO NOT GET WASHERS AND BOLTS FOR A REAR CAMBER KIT trust me it just causes problems, get the adjustable ones so it's not set at a certain spec. i used to have that, with 4 washers and it wasn't enough, so i put 5 and it was too much. also, if you want a front camber kit you should buy something like the Skunk 2 UCA, cause the other crap also ****s you over... believe me

if you dropped around 1.5 inches, it works perfectly fine.
