yeah, I'm guessing the beam pattern will actually be better than stock on these? I know that TYC headlights/tail lights are good quality, and don't leak. However, I've never liked the look of TYC tails on the 5th/6th gen Accords...

I'm not familiar with TYC products. Since it says on the autodynamic site they are legal, does that mean the light output has to meet a minimum standard? Anyone that has used projectors, can you recommend a good aftermarket bulb? I now use Silverstars in my oem headlights and I was wondering if light output is limited with the bulbs that would go inside these projectors. BTW, chrome or black housings with a 99 sedan? Opinions? Thanks in advance.

right now, I'm thinking the chrome version looks cleaner, but I haven't seen these on an Accord yet. Anyone have pics?

I would also lean toward the chrome...just looking at the pics. If someone has answers to my questions above it would be greatly appreciated. Regards.

What is wrong with the TYC for the 5th Gens? They are clean unlike 6th Gen.

Yes TYC products are street legal, and have been tested to pass all requirements. I'm not sure what bulbs are used in these projectors, but I can tell you whatever bulb that will go into these projectors will have light output as good or better then stock.

I have a feeling its not going to be 9005 or 9006, but more along the H type bulbs.

This is off TYC website, referring to the quality of their products.

The idea is not just to follow the design that's currently on the market, but to set a trend for others to follow. Being an industry leader in both product quality and production standards, TYC is very familiar with the role of being there first. Design, Materials, Production Standards, Compliance, and Testing are all benchmarks for TYC quality in every performance lamp product.

Design - TYC employs engineers, CAD artists, and stylists using the latest computer aided software to produce an array of cutting-edge design concepts for aftermarket performance lamps. TYC then utilizes the latest equipment with the finest raw materials in the production process to generate the most innovative performance lamps in the industry.

Premium Quality Materials - TYC incorporates a premium grade of materials to fabricate not only its products, but also the tooling or mold that components are formed from. For the plastic injection of lamp components, TYC generates tooling made from high grade metals that are extremely hard, causing a longer development time but also the most consistent shape, form and quality in any product production.

Strength, durability and reliability are strict quality standards for TYC products. Non-recycled plastic (BMC) is used to form housings while the polycarbonate (PC) lenses are treated with UV and hardness coatings for longevity from damaging ultraviolet rays and road abrasions.

Compliance - TYC is committed to provide superior products that are SAE/DOT compliant while adhering to strict FMVSS-108 requirements without compromising style and performance. Elegante by TYC is the only alternative to high performance lamps.

Testing conducted on TYC performance lamps are extensive both internally and through external sources. These tests provide the quality standards that TYC provides.

Photometric - Each lighting product undergoes testing to ensure the required light dispersion (direction, intensity and pattern) as defined by US Federal Regulations (FMVSS 108) and enforced by the US Department of Transportation. In addition, the tests are repeated again by respected and certified Independent Laboratories who are contracted by Domestic and Foreign auto manufacturers such as Chrysler and General Motors.

Transit Test - Original product packaging are submitted to shock tests (as determined by rated and insured carriers) to ensure lamps can withstand the rigors of transportation.

Simulated Rain Test - Extended exposure to both fluids and moisture are standard to provide exemplary lamp performance in any weather condition.

Endurance Tests - Extended periods of exposure to corrosive salt water, vibration/fatigue tests, and lengthy periodsof lighted bulb testing are conducted on TYC lamps to ensure high performance through ANY duty cycle.

oh, I didn't know TYC made those. Those are probably the best 5th gen tails available, but I would prefer the stock 96-97 tails over that. That's just me :dunno:
