I think I might get an '01 or '02 and put 17's or 18's on it, then install an air cleaner and do some intake and exhaust mods. Just enough work to give it a better grip on the road and give it a lil' bit o' balls.
Well I know that "a lot of power" is relative, but to make a lot of power, you'll need a turbo. I think you are on the right track with grip. In my opinion that's where the best bang for the buck is on our cars, suspension and grip. You can spend a lot on the motor and still be slower than many stock new cars. Or you can spend money on suspension and tires and smoke 'em through the twisty roads...much more fun in my opinion anyway.

I've gotta check out Schmid's car now...
Here's a couple of mine, I do have a bodykit, but I like it because I think it's subtle enough it looks like it could be stock.

You took the words out of my mouth. That is a reaaally sweet looking car. I hear you on getting power out the stock 160hp vs. some of the newer 4-bangers coming out with 170 and 210hp. And you're right on target with having fun with bobbin' and weavin' through the curvy roads. My pal has a 330CI and I think we have the most fun playing cat n' mouse in the backwoods secondaries.
Sweeeet pics! Thanks for puttin 'em up.
I really want to get out and see these cars - so keep me posted on meets!- Or maybe they're already posted somewhere -I'll have to comb the rest of the site....
