Default subwoofer and stock cd player

hey whas goin on everybody. i have a 2001 accord and was wondering what the deal is with the stock cd player that comes with the ex's. you guys thing there would be a problem to keep the stock player in there when i get 2 10' subs installed? im askin this because the cd players u buy that arent stock usually come with like a "loud" button to make base go up alot but the stock doesnt have this. that u guys think............would the sound still be good or would the subs be useless with the stock 6 cd changer player in there.
thanks

My moms got a 10in sub in her car with her stock headunit. We kept the headunit cause the car came with a 6CD changer. The only thing i dont like about her system is that with the sub the bass over powers the stock speakers in the doors. It sounds great with CD's but the radio sounds like sh!t. Shes got aftermarket tweeters also. I just think she needs a different headunit to give the stock speakers some power.

My headunit has the LOUD button but i dont use it cause it makes my speakers get distorted (aftermarket speakers too) So i just keep it off and turned my amp up. I think it sounds better and i have more mid's (voices) and also more highs

Im still thiking of getting a 4channel amp but i think it sounds great now

The LOUD button on aftermarket head units is to compensate for bass at low volume levels. As the volume goes up, the bass circuitry reduces that LOUD circuit in response to the level...bass always drops at higher volume levels, believe it or not....in most "average" systems, bass seems to get neutral as the volume gets insanely high. This is not for competition level systems competing on the IASCA or USAC circuits -- those guys have caps, extra batteries, and the like -- but it seems on average bass reduces in response to very high volumes.

I have in my 99 Accord what is similar to what you're thinking of doing...I have two 15's in a sealed box, powered by a huge Rockford Fosgate amp, all coming off the factory radio because I like the sound of the head unit and speakers---STOCK. While sometimes I wish I had that LOUD button, I compensate for this by cranking the bass knob on the factory radio up quite a bit past halfway---this gets me low, deep bass at lower volume levels. Without a LOUD button, and if your system is going to use an RCA converter like mine does to connect an amp to the factory radio, there is no choice but to crank up the bass knob on the radio itself to get deep bass at low volumes. It will work though.

any aftermarket HU will have more control over the sound than the stock HU. the one i got only costs $350, will let me play mp3's, and has a 10 channel eq.

If you use your stock headunit/cd-player/changer then the quality of the sound will not be as clear as a aftermarket headunit. Even if you cruise with the "LOUD" option off and the treble/eq settings to a low db (low high's) output, the aftermarket will always sound better. Aftermarket headunits will make cd's sound good with nice high's and some ok bass(thats where the subs come in). So its really up to whether you can afford a aftermarket headunit and/or if you want your system to sound nice with tight bass or muffled high's with loose hitting bass. Reason y it doesnt sound as good is another topic. To lazy to explain y but if u want me to then pm me.

I have a stock head unit and speakers in my 99 EX V-6 and I do not experience "loose bass" or muffled highs, so dont listen to that...and, my aftermarket 15" subs dont sound sloppy either, with the signal coming out of the Honda factory radio...I cant get the bass to travel outside the vehicle, which has been my goal, but thats another problem---the bass isnt sloppy or muddy, though.
