swimmer on an AEGIS??? you must have solid steel cajones. It wasn't bad on a sub, the fastest we ever went when I had to watch for dumb dumbs was about 7knots, and the top of the deck was only about 5ft above the water, plus our hull is round so easy to slide off and get back on, although since the screw was a bit shallow, you had to be a bit careful back there.

Cool there's a lot of air force people here. I just got back into the air force. I was in for 3 years enlisted working on aircraft electrical systems, now I'm an intelligence officer. Like someone else said, the money isn't all that great (but it's not bad as an officer) but the benefits ROCK. I just finished college so I've got some debts to pay off, but in a couple of years I'm going to get a brand-spanking-new Accord!! I can't wait.

no way, it's awesome... shipboard recovs are from the forcastle, maybe a 30ft drop... they lower us down in a rescue strop... not fun in rough seas, you bounce down the hull. small boats are alright with the rhib... we have an awesome deck dept. so it's usually pretty smooth. sharks have thrown a few drills off, but other than that it's a blast. working on AEGIS sux though.

oh yea, today we pulled 32 knots and went right into emergency drills, it was awesome, but if someone ever went over in that they'd be fish bait.
