Anyway I work for the school system through a temp agency doing network support. The budget has been slashed this year so I am supposed to go anyday, just don't know which one yet.

For the real money I stand outside of 7-11 with a change cup. Aside from that I'm a staff test engineer(i write test programs and design hardware to test semiconductors, and being as I'm a staff engineer, I have 5 guys that report to me). I have my MSCS, BSEE, and I'm currently working on my MBA(night school BLECK!). What I make??? I'm telling you, never underestimate the power of a clanking change in a coin cup outside fo 7-11. Oh and since someone else mentioned it, I'm a former sailor too(RM1 (SS/DV) last billet was SSN-614)
you must be in the wrong service, I made good money when I was in E-6 with 6 years sub pay, sea pay, hazardous duty, off base housing allowance(our base was too small) and comrats(commuted rations, they pay you to feed yourself) I made off like a fat rat. Looking at todays payscale it would be $25K base, $7700 for housing allowance, $3600 for sea pay, $3600 for sub pay, $2500 for harzardous duty pay, plus another $3K for comrats, a little extra on the side for being a diver(can't find a current payscale for it), turns out to be $50K state tax exempt fun not bad for 6 years on the job, like I said, you must be in the wrong service. After 6 years in I came out of the navy with $40K in the bank

well, I'm not trying for a living (only 16 w/ parents) but I work 4 nights a week at a Japanese steak house, on busy nights (w/ tips included in $$) i make like $12 and hour, on slow nights, around $7 or $8 and hour, not bad considering all I pay for is gas, insurance, car parts, and my gf...
