Thanks!

The filter is kinda back there a bit, it looks closer than it actually is but I will ask some of my friends if we can figure out something to cover it up a bit more, I will try your suggestion to.

Here are some crappy pics.

i'm amazed you don't have any dead bugs on your filter. i'm guessing you don't drive too many highway miles?

I've driven on the highway a few times, trust me I get my fair share of bugs!! I pretty much wipe down the whole front everday lol! The airfilter is suprisingly clean, so far....

I drive my beater around atleast a few days a week if I have alot of errands to run.

My first car, 1992 chevy beretta gt 3.1l v6 has 114k on it, great beater with A/C!

Hydro lock sucks ass, It don't even have to get into the engine. The water just soaks the filter to where air won't come in anymore. SO in turn the engine stalls. You consider yourself lucky let the water dry out for a few minutes and drive on. Trust me I go through this pretty much everytime it rains here. I hit a big puddle or drive in the ruts in the pavement. Nothing but a quick stall. The intake tube is like a straw. It doesn't take much force for you to suck a cold drink through a straw so consider how much air your engine is sucking. It gets even worse the lower the car is.

I'm looking for a cheap short ram now. I'm tired of the CAI always getting dirty and the above.

Any suggestions? I tend to not drive it in bad weather anyway but i know i will have to eventually, I remember i drove down i-70 for about 30 min in heavy rain the 2nd week i had the car and had no problems at all, lots of water and everything, the filter is sitting a little back there, the front is exposed but the side is meshed and walled and the back has the rubber thing and underneath is covered to.

I was thinking about the bypass valve, buy it just incase and keep it if I need to use it I guess, I could always take it off anyway.

You can see how my filter is in there. I don't have a fender lining and I don't have the plastic under the car installed either.
