Default best exhaust for 99 accord 2.3L

Okay, I guess I'm just getting to the point where I can afford to mod my accord. My fiancee and I have had this car for about a year. It just became mine when we sold my truck and got her something else. I really like it. It's the first manual tranny Accord I've ever driven. At any rate, the first thing I need to do is exhaust. For right now I want a canister and maybe increase piping size.

Since I'm traditionally a Nissan man, I need some input on this. I know Hondas are tempermental engines (so I'm told). Who out there has an opinion about the best brand of muffler (performance, tone, etc.) for this engine/car and about the piping diameter?

Thanks, guys.

I'm happy with my arospeed dual fart cannons I wanna see how many people flame me for this one. Tanabe is a good performance exhaust but you probably wont like the tone. Anyways I'm sure most would say Apexi Worldsport or Greddy. Everyone has there own personal taste. I don't know the best diamter; mines 2.25" and the mufflers are 16'X4'. Talk to Jschmid and loxllxol they both have great setups.

how loud do you want it to be?

for custom piping, 2.25" would be best as to not lose low end. you can look into larger if you plan force induction.

If I did go forced induction, it would be too far down the road to justify increasing the piping any larger than 2.25. I just need some input from Accord owners about what has worked the best.

I actually don't want to buy a full catback system. I just want to buy the muffler and have the piping redone. Is it possible to get just the muffler from a Skunk2 catback system? I like the look of those. I think I want something with about a 4 -4.5" tip. I know it might take a bit of work to make that fit correctly, but I know I can do it.

Any more input is appreciated.
