Default Buying V6 6MT in LA/SoCal

To anyone out there who has purchased this model in the L.A./SoCal region and doesn't mind sharing info on which dealer, what you paid, and how the buying experience was. Please specify as well whether or not you got navi. Thanks in advance.

My girlfriend's Dad got a 6MT + Navi at HondaWorld in Lakewood. Not sure what he paid but it was a good deal...

i considered mine a good deal, but please try to do better. just

add about 1800 for the navigation.

i got my 2003 accord ex v6 coupe for 25770 OTD and they are

already making a lot from me. my advice , dont bother negotiating

msrp with them. check this website out, www.car-prices-

costs.com. if you can get 200 below invoice thats better, but

invoice price is already good. jokes or insults the dealer will tell

you :


1. call the cops, hes trying to steal an accord (scottrobinsonhonda worst dealership)

2. you cant put the price tag of a can of beer on a bottle of champagne (scott robinsonhonda worst dealership)

3. my wife needs food and make up (gardenahonda - which is the dealership i bought my accord from. he later shuts his mouth and smile when i told him about the holdback.)

It's interesting to hear that. The two dealers offering the lowest prices, at least through email quotes, are Scott Robinson and Gardena. I haven't heard the jokes/excuses you describe. The prices they've quoted are well below MSRP. I know what holdback is, but several other dealers have quoted at MSRP. So it seems that, whatever BS they're slinging, offering the car at 1K or more under MSRP means a pretty good deal. Any thoughts?

IMO, $1K below MSRP isn't that good a deal. I got my LX V6 Coupe for $2000 below MSRP and that was the dealer's standard no haggle price. If I had wanted Graphite I could have gotten it for $100 less (that car had been on the lot longer than the other 3 they had available at the time). Seems like the 6MT should go for at least that much below, since it starts so much higher.

^^^naw,

the 6-speed is more expensive, but it's WAY in demand. I've heard dealerships all over the country are getting sticker for them. and most are special orders.

My advice is to ignore the MSRP entirely. goto that site vinz mentioned above and find out how much the dealer actually paid for your car ("dealer invoice" minus "holdback"), and negotiate UP from that price. This makes it so the dealer has to negotiate how much money they are making off you instead of pretending to give you a good deal.

I got my EX V6 Coupe with the full underbody aero-kit (~$1000) installed for $24,800. I think that's really good for Massachusetts, because I called all the other dealers around me and told them that if they could beat that price I'd be down there with a check in 10min. None of them called me back.

wow such a deal. where did you get it from? i only ask cause my dad knows the owner of Honda Barn in North Reading and Stratham, NH so we get hooked up without all the BS.

I bought in in salem, MA but there is a dealership 2 miles from my house in danvers, MA and another in burlington near where I work.

Having an inside connection must be great! I really hate negotiating, I'm not a gambler and don't get a "charge" out of going back and forth with a sales guy. I just hate paying full price for anything because you know that somwhere, somehow, someone else is getting a great deal on the same thing you're buying.

So I just did my research and learned how dealership rip people off (holdback etc.) and went in armed-to-the-teeth.

hell yeah, i dropped alot of money on maintenance items when i did my h22 swap. we pay what his employees would pay for something.

i suspect though there is less room for negotiations on a 6sp coupe though which is want i hope to get 2 years from now. i know when my rents bought their 99 V6 EX coupes honda dealers were only getting 1 a month and it was luck of the draw for color.

trust me, they will stop negotiating with you when you tell them you know they have the dealers holdback.
