LX 4Cyl.. Oil changes I usually do at 3500 miles cause its easier for me to add up then the 3750 Honda recommends for severe, which everyone is in, if you live in the United States..The reason you have 8K miles on your sticker is because your last change was at 4900 miles,,they put 8K for your next change as compared to 7.5 K.. No big deal,, quit being anal.. Just make sure you get your tires rotated at that time,, cause they are due then,,By the way,,, Thanks for visiting your local dealership for your service work,,Look for another posting comparing dealerships against independent garages in the near future..
I wasn't sure if you got a chance to look at it, but my question regarding transmission cooler + filter: B&M advertises their cooler to have "no pressure drop". If I were to install an external tranny cooler via the fluid return line, would I be causing any other kind of unkown harm? I'm also considering getting a remote filter for the transmission too...

LX 4 CYl, Sorry for not answering that part of your question,, My bad on that part,,Useing a remote cooler and filter might sound like a good idea,, But My concern would be, if you had a warranty problem useing the remote cooler/filter.. I would have to void your warranty, due to the possible restriction( yeah I know they claim, no restriction)Buyer beware..If I believed every aftermarket HP claim, I would have a 1000 HP Mustang for $500,, ditto for the Import crowd.

the idea is to extend the life of the tranny, not to make the car faster I guess I could pull a fast one and take it out if I have problems, even though it would be less likely to happen when the tranny fluid is being cooled + filtered...

Well i just checked my tranny fluid and it's clean. pinkish/fleshy like raw chicken colored
another thing that it does ( i don't remember if i mentioned it or not) when i put it into gear after having it in park, it rolls a little bit but it lags like 2-4 seconds before actually going into gear. which feels a little weird and hard on my tranny when it does that. is this further proof that my solenoid is ****ed?

and if i'm going to do the draining thing, i've already tried to get ahold of some honda fluid from around my area, and all the places (45 min away) that actually carry it have it in bulk and don't sell it retail. i don't want to have to pay tons of money to keep getting it flushed over 3 times
is there a site where i can buy honda tranny fluid?
and that last question isn't directed nessicarily at lager but anyone who knows.

thanks

Lager.... your response was very much appreciated - thank you!

One thing I forgot to mention is if I let my car warm up 10 min. or so (which I know I shouldn't have to do in the first place) my car will seldom give me any headaches, it doesn't seem to shudder or stick, it goes into first & second no problem. I couldn't figure out why it only causes problems on a cold start. Anyway, I will take your advice & work with it. Thanks again!

i got a quick queston for ya, i got a 98 accord v6 coupe. most of the time when I'm going in reverse, while I'm rolling backward i hear a loud clunk and they car kinda lurches alittle. Is that because I'm accelerating too quickly in reverse or is it something else. thanks.

Ok Im back,,This is now Friday night,, I skipped thursday here ,, just cause I didnt feel like it.. Im telling you gents,, Life in the car businness really sucks sometimes..Dealer principals ( owners) wondering why CSI ( Customer satisfication Score) isnt higher, uniformed Service managers asking questions(on how to run a service dept to make himself look better while HE gets the Demo and a pay plan) to service advisors wanting me to explain to customers why they dont know anything about cars to Customers. Dispatching work orders to the correctly qualified technicians, establishing work load and hours saleable for the day and Then I come on here and answer more questions ?? I MUST be sick !! I bet most of you pukes make a LOT more money then I do and dont have nearly the responsibilities ?? Ok,,,No more whinning from my part,, On to the questions.. LX 4 cyl.. Extending the life of your 2002 accord Transmission with a cooler and a filter,, Be honest with you,, I have no idea,,, I guess It might be ok?? Havent had any problems with 2002 cars yet?? On your own there Bud..My concerns are still with restrictions.. Your trans takes a long lunch break,, I never heard of you .. NEXT.. AD... I want you to do something for me..Your lagging into First on your 97 Accord,, your car a has a cable from the throttle body to the trans,, I want you to loosen that cable on the transmission side, then start the car,, crack the throttle at the throttle cable,, adjust the transmission cable so it moves at exacty the sames time,,This adjustment determines, both gear engagement point and pressure to your clutches,, see If that helps,,??Thanks for your Questions
