Default Probs while lauching my AV6

I revved to 2k while holding the brake (ugh, auto :ugh: ) and then floored it while releasing the brake but my RPMs did not fly up that fast. It felt like the car launched in second or something.

Am I doing it right?

I was just screwing around...but I heard the transmissions on the av6s are pretty weak, so I guess no more.

btw...even after hearing my friends dohc vtecs (f20c and b18c)sohc vtec sounds better than I thought.....im happy 1500 km on my engine now!

Don't worry about it. Our AV6's are way too heavy and underpowered through 1st gear. I raced a red CRX that revved on me down Beach Bl. last weekend and even he got the jump on me (until I hit 15 mph and smoked his ass...and at the next streetlight even worse when I actually launched). Just practice more at it. There should be just a little chirp if you do it right.

And give your transmission a little more credit. It's somewhat of a myth...to a point.

I have found the best way to launch our cars is just floor them off the line. If you brake torque it the car seems to bog down some. Flooring it off the line gives me a nice chirp!

Does anybody have times concerning brake torquing and just flooring it? I think there should be a considerable difference. On my car I used to think that just flooring it works (not saying that it doesn't. i still think it works. heh.) but then I think the whole purpose of brake torquing is so that your RPMs start higher up where we gain more power out of our engine. Just flooring it makes you start from the idle.

Is neutral dropping faster? (I already know it kills the transmission so dont tell me it's going to, but honestly, it's gonna die anyway - might as well be now.)

Thanks for the suggestion. Yeah, I think neutral dropping is really bad because it puts so much stress on the torque converter.

hi im retarted.

Before I make you look stupid, just re-read what you said. Honestly, in an Automatic. I can prove that brake torquing helps you a hell of a lot.

In my friends 2k1 Prelude SS
