Default 6th genners: h&r springs

okay here's the situation....

i went and bought a set of h&r springs for my 99 accord 4 cyl. sedan...

i was told by the store owner that these were the correct springs for my car...

when i got home i went and checked the h&r website and found out that the springs that i had picked up were for an accord v6...

what i was supposed to get: part # 51853-88
and what i got: part # 51858-88

and on the reciept: all sales final... no exchange or refunds

so since i can't give them back.... i'm gonna try to put them in...

first question: will they fit? is there a major difference in the suspension design?

second question: will my performance suffer seeing as how the springs are made for a slightly heavier car?

Well...isn't it the store owner fault that you got the wrong springs? I would go back and tell them that he said it was the correct springs however they are the wrong ones...regardless of the policy on the receipt. Do that before you try to put it on.

Oh yea...I thought you were getting Teins?

DO NOT PUT THOSE V6 SPRINGS ON YOUR 4CYL!!!

The front end is heavier on a V6, therefore the front springs are different. Go back to the store and complain. If they won't exchange it, threaten them by saying you will go to the BBB!

Yeah, I don't see how you should be stuck with them. Take them back and get the right ones.

lol... i called in and they don't carry the 4 cyl part number... it turns out it was a 1 time buy and they won't be getting them in again...

management says that they told me beforehand that there are no refunds.... it's even posted above the shelf... so now i'm kinda stuck...

am i going to be able to use them?

or do i sell them?

sell them. I doubt you'd want to use V6 springs on a 4cyl Accord.

That's BS. Don't let them screw you like this. It is their responsibility to sell you the proper product at the time of original purchase. Threaten to sue them in small claims court. You don't need a lawyer and there is only a marginal fee to file those papers. Stick it to them as hard as you can. Be tough and you'll get your money back.
