when people say the 4 gets much better miles than the 6, it's all in the driving style. with my V6 i always get 24 city, 27 highway. it's not as bad as people make it out to be.

but then a 4 cyl driven like that will also get great mileage and surpass the 6 cyl in gas mileage...

When I bought the 4 it was a demo model and had a few hundred miles on it, so I haggled the price down pretty cheap. I drove it for awhile and the six kept calling. So I went to a different dealer and traded the car in. They did not have a trade-in price on the car since the car was still pretty new. So they gave me a little over what I had paid for the car and I pretty much broke even. Then purchased the Satin Silver V6 auto w/Navigation.

I have previously driven a 98 I4-5spd manual and I bought a 03 V6-6spd manual. The difference is like earth and heaven.
After the test drive the old car felt like it's barely moving + lack of torque at low rpms is a killer. No wonder you save gas when the car barely moves at low rpms. I have test driven the TSX and it's much much better with K24 but still the 03 V6 is better at low rpms. I love the V6 for it's torque and sound. If you want anything decent out of I4 you need to rev it like nuts and the I4 sound was just irritating for me after all those years.
The new 4cyl Accord is a little underrated with power, but still, why would you want to spend extremely big amounts of money into modding it and voiding your warranty when you can get a stock thing for only slightly more?
Everyone knows that the new V6 Accord picks up 10 more hp just with premium fuel and if you add the CAI (injen...) you get 10 more (whp).
For me the stock V6 is just more than powerful enough and I'm really really satisfied with handling. If I ever want to improve it, a new set of tires will probably be the first thing I'll do (toyo proxes).
If you can't afford the V6 go with I4 othervise - don't

The last test that I saw...I think MT or C/D did showed that the J30 LOST power with premium.

I assume if you search you would find it on this forum as well. People have posted dynos on vtec.net and I do trust those folks.
