Default rust repair and custom fibberglass interior

i got a price for $400 to take out my rust in the rear panel. to cut out and weld a new piece, sand it down and paint with just primer. is that a good price. does anybody know how to fibberglass ur interior? im lookin to do this to my car. i can just use any fibberglass like the one they sell in autozone.i need to know asap. some thing like this is what im talkin about

You want to get good fiberglass cloth,and quality resin. Go to a boat store, they'll have better stuff.

u think they use fibberglass cloth for their interior. wouldnt it look thicker.

actually most likely, the use molds, and just pump glass and resin into there to form it. but that is a real ***** for the do it yourselfer.

But it also demends on how many layers you use. You can buy cloth in varying thicknesses, and strand counts.

any suggestions as to which cloth and resin to use? im going to be tackling this project in the next couple of weeks....

if it is too think, sand it down. fiberglass sands nicely just be careful not to sand too much, that creates too much work.

for the interior parts ......i think they just use a spray gun with car paint and car clear coat. u figure the shine comes from that clear coat they use on car. i think they only use fibberglass on wood. im going to get a spray gun and car paint to paint my interior. i think its also good to just use a can of spray paint and then take it to a shop so they can clear coat it.

that is how i intend to paint mine as well... or have it painted that way depending on $$
