Acutely Disappointed

dresden K, remember that relatively fast 4th gen Accords are far and few between. So what you have is a very unique car; that's worth something right there. More than likely it isn't the target of every ricer, like any Civic or Integra that looks like it might have good parts to thieve out of it.
Also, with the Progress rear bar, Eibach Prokit springs, and Koni Sport shocks (along with some Falken Azenis or Kuhmo MX tires) you could really rip it up, have a great time, and turn some heads ("was that an ACCORD going that fast???") on the autocross course in STS class.
Geez, I hope you have SCCA autocrosses in Canada . . . you do right???
I'm picking up a '92 Accord wagon 5-spd soon with exactly those goals -
1) An unusual tuner Honda vehicle.
2) A fun autocross vehicle.
3) Something with potential to be quick enough to really surprise some people, either by turboing the F22, or by putting a mildly built H22 into it.
Enjoy your Accord for what it is, and when you want to go a lot faster for similar coin, put a turbo B16 or B18 in a EG Civic hatch (one of my other Hondas). . .

H22 is way overused here with the accord people. Everyone and their mother wants an H22 thinking its a gem. In ur case I think u made the right decision to go for H22 since u had an older F and automatic, But for some of the ppl running newer F's and manuals I think the option is turbo. With turbo u get 200+hp and 200+torque at the wheels vs 190hp and no torque at the fly. Its just not good enough in stock form.

wow, a nine month old thread.
but does anyone know whats the mileage on the lude engines and turbo is also good since u can control how much boost u want at certain times, when crusing u only need like 150hp to save gas and stuff. another option to think about...

SpecialEd..
Man, it's been awhile since I posted that, but I appreciate you bringing it back to life.. it's kind of like reading an old journal or something.
Yes, in the months since I wrote that post I've sort of accepted my car for what it is and fully come to realize what it is.
I've realized that my car is pretty unique. There are two guys in my city that I've met personally with the same swap, but they both had fifth generation Accords. Very nice setups, them two. I get some attention at Honda meets or anytime a lot of enthusiasts are in one place. Not a lot, but some.
I haven't taken my car to the track once. That's my next goal actually. I'd like to take my driving "to the next level" and sign up for racing school. There's actually a place called Racing Adventures that uses cobra kit cars. I might do that this summer.
As far as the H22a. I think that it's a damn fine engine. Compared to other naturally aspirated 2.2's or thereabouts, it's pretty amazing. Consider the Volkswagen 2.0. It barely puts out 130bhp (guessing)... Hell, the 2.5L NA Subaru puts out 165bhp/166ft/lbs. There are so many tuning options and parts available for the H22a... I'm happy with the engine, but my car is a porker.
For a somewhat inexpensive car, in the future, I'm going to look at a 240sx, or I might try to find a wrecked integra and drop my powertrain into it. There's a kit car called "Attack" made by some eastern European place that I've been looking at. It uses the Accord as donor. I also like older BMW's..
There are a lot of options out there.. for the time being, if I turn my stereo up really loud so that I can't hear the squeaking everything, I like my car.

My H22 after swap and with only intake and exhaust I put 420 miles a tank on the freeway and was averaging 380 in mostly around town driving.
Fully built I am averaging 340-360 miles a tank in local driving and close to 400 in freeway. My main loss as you can see was in my city mpg but not enough to make me cry about it.

Yeah, after I posted that, I realized how old the thread was. I had just been doing research about motorswaps, turbos for my Accord, and I'm very excited about the project, so I felt compelled to respond (even though I haven't picked up my wagon yet - it's paid for, but it's in Ohio and I'm in Colorado. Booking the flight today to go get it!).
Are there autocrosses/Solo2 events in Canada? It's a lot lower cost/danger/car prep required to play with your car legally than going out to track days . . .

Well, I'm using metric, but I have a 50L tank and it lasts me about 450-500km a tank, so about 10L/100km, which is pretty average. My mom's Subaru Outback 2.5L has about the same gas milage. h:
I'm not aware of any sort of SCCA anything up here, but I haven't checked. I'm sure there is, but I just don't know about it yet.
I still don't know how to heel/toe...
SpecialEd - you're getting a wagon, eh? That's awsome. I'm a wagon fan. What generation is it?
