O-DUB - I'm not sure what to say, really... You reiterated what I initially said but must have gotten tired from reading so many characters after that that you missed what myself and others mentioned later on in the thread, basically stating that I'm used to the car now, and while it's not spectacular like a 900bhp Skyline, it works, and it's decent, and I can spank Ford Focuses.

Who said that I was going to sell it? Who said that the 4th Gen Accord is a "rock" with which race car building is impossible? Oh well. My car is faster than yours, I'm sure.

Thanks Samson.

Man, don't be let down!! Accords may not be the fastest thing on the planet, but style counts as well. Check out the link below for some inspiration. These guys arebuilding my motor right now. And then come back to me and say you don't want an Accord! Now this is quality work. Check out the website too:

h: Horrible video quality, but then again the Accord in there sounds like a beast. I would be reluctant to drive that on the road, over here in So Cal.

$25000 !!!!

for that much you couldve gotton yourself a new Accord Coupe v6, 6-speed!!! want more how about something like the outgoing 2003 255HP 6-speed HLSD Maxima? or you couldve saved some money for mods by getting the same awesome engine as the maxima in a 245HP 5-speed Altima. There is a base altima 3.5 SE 5-spd that the dealer is willing to sell for 21K here locally. Or you couldve gotten yourself a Subaru WRX!!

Sorry dont mean to offend anyone but, $25K? on a 4th gen accord, seems too much to me.

Read most the thread but far from all of it so let me say this much.

I also have an H22 but I do have the H22A4 and noticed a power gain after the swap...but definitley not a rocket by any stretch of the imagination.

Basically the swap was just the beginning point on my journey to a "fast Accord" not a Civic...not an Integra...not a 300 ZX but an Accord.

There are limitations to every car and weight is the big one with the Accord no matter how you size it up. If you are looking to be as fast as a Civic or a Focus then start cutting stuff out of your car right now....seats, door panels, dash, matting, glass replaced with Lexan....then you may just come within a couple hundred pounds of weighing in at the same weight as a stock Civic LX.

You have a good starting point but if you want a rocket then you bought the wrong car or you haven't done anything to the engine.

Not bragging but mine after the engine work is done in the next week will be pushing for low 14s high 13s all motor. Its just the first step of many to swap the engine out is all. You have to be realistic or you will always be dissapointed no matter what you do to it.

GhettoMax, just reminding you that I said 25k CDN money... that's maybe 18k USD? With what I spent, I'd be hard-pressed to get a Civic SiR (canadian version) Hatch... I could maybe get a Sentra SE-R or a 2001 Prelude, but keep in mind, and I didn't really mention this, but I didn't think I would have all this money up front.. I did pay cash for everything but this project has taken two years and really, much more money that I wished I spent, but it was always "Well, I'm in it this deep"... it's not that I was like... "Hmm.. partially done up 1991 Accord or two year old Prelude/Audi 1.8t/GTi/etc.. "

It just came together over time and when I look back on my receipts, it totals 25k.

At the same time, I had enough sense to somewhat price out a "dream project" Accord when I bought it two years ago, and it came out to 25k, but I just didn't think I'd need to replace as much as soon as I did - also, I thought the insurance would be less.. I'm 21, and insurance in my province is messed up - as it turns out, even without collision coverage, and having had NO accidents, I pay 6k CDN a year... for a 1991 family car that hasn't been looked at by my insurance company... (I know, I should get the appraisal into them, but I'd end up paying more..)

So basically I didn't really anticipate that the final bill would come up as fast as it did... I have sort of a "upgrade as it brakes" policy.

That's my clarification.
