You don't have to spend a lot of money to have something you like. Maybe instead of spending alot of money on rims, you could buy a set of 92-6 Prelude wheels, from a wrecking yeard for not too much (maybe $100 for the set of four,) and you'd have a bit of style, minimal expense, and better performance (6.5" versus 5.5" width,) and can use your stock size tires. You don't have to go overboard on bodywork, but if you want to sell the car, a good body does get you a much better price. Even a basic paintjob does wonders, add in some mild trim cleanup and replacing the cracked and discolored lenses, makes a car look a lot better. With my 92, I removed the pinstriping (which was discolored and coming off in places,) gave it a good buffing, did the clear lenses in the front, and removed all but the "H" from the rear of the car. Just took a little time.

I'm not sure either, but 140mph is over 220kmph... The compression I don't know because my mechanic did it and told me that they were all within 3psi of each other...

Depends on how fast I'm trying to drive, but if I'm going all out I usually shift around 6500 rpm, give or take.

As for the bodywork on the car, I will need to do something soon whether I keep it or not.. the paint is cracking on the hood, peeling on the roof and rusting on the quarterpanels...

I think I'm going to just drive it for the next few seasons, as is... I'm spent right now anyway... tuition needs the attention now.. <sigh>

And, I realize that it isn't the paint itself that is rusting.. just flowed better as I wrote it..

ok thats your first major problem. shift at like 7400 and see if you still arent impressed. I mean I agree with everyone else theres a lot of hype, but you seem pretty dissapointed.

i agree 100%

shifting at 6500rpm is plain silly
shift it at 7400 and you will see a big difference. the engine doesnt even make peak power til near 7000rpm and the higher rev you will stay in vtec when you up shift...

Here's my two cents:

Do whatever makes you happy with the car. It doesnt take having a Cadillac Northstar V8 in a CRX to have fun in a vehicle. My 93 4G only has strut tower braces, short ram intake, APEX cat back exhaust, and a very stock looking body. It makes me happy the way it is. I'm not looking for a Ferrari with an H, just something that makes me happy, as what you should do with yours. If dumping thousands and thousands of dollars into your car is what it takes to make you happy, then more power to you. Each man has his price. Some are lower than others. Some are easer to satisfy. Do what you will, and good luck. tc.

Ya dude, that's a MAJOR problem. I shift at about 8300rpm - just before the rev limiter. The Prelude tach reads a few hundred RPM high though. Rev your car to into the limiter (you won't hurt anything) and learn to shift right before that.

Default Good points

Hondapower10a - While I'm not expecting to get world class performance out of my car now, I think initially all that was going on was that I had built my expectations up for quite a long time as to how fast I thought my car should be. It wasn't as fast as I'd imagined, but now that I've had the car for 9 days or so, I've gotten used to it, and I'm happy enough. I guess when it comes down to it, I just enjoy having wheels more than anything. I'm sure that as the years go by and I will heopfully earn more money, I'll get a faster car, but for now what I have is good.

And I ran into another Ford Focus wagon today. It was going along at ~ 130kmph and it took me a few car lengths to decide to spank it... It got spanked.
