1) There is no Accord Type-R
2) There is an Accord Euro-R, but that has the K20A5.
3) The Acura TSX is known as the Accord 24S in Europe and Japan.
4) The European and Japanese Accords are COMPLETELY DIFFERENT from the American Accord. The only thing they have in common are interior bits, drivetrain and nameplate.

Default the TSX is too nice

Hey guys. Noel, I just saw your post on the TSX versus the Accord and I think you just helped me out on making a decision. I currently own an Integra that I have unfortunately invested a lot of money in and I test drove the TSX this afternoon, and I have to say, that is one nice car! I believe that if I get enough courage to sell my Integra, I'm goin to go for he TSX because it is different and not everyone has it like Hondas (not hatin on Hondas, they are just everywhere you turn your head). I just wanted to say I'm glad you posted the comparison, b/c it's going to help me make a decision. Anyways, once I graduate college in two years and go off to Med school, i need a reliable car like the Acura. And you're right, the Acura people take well care of their customers. Good post man!

I read that Honda uses their global midsize platform for all accords and tl's. They use 3 different sizes tho, the smallest for the tsx/non US accord, medium is for US accord, and large for the TL. Reading all this about missing low end grunt when moving from 3 liter v6's to 4 bangers is making me question whether I really want a 2.2 CL over a J30. But I dont kno how long I can last without something more sporty, and manual. I think I'm still convinced that I want the CL with the h22a swaped in tho.

I'm not quite sure what that has to do with the F22 v J30, but yes, there are three different sizes of the global midsize.

There wasn't much choices out there. I didn't like the Camry. I liked the Euro 1999-2002 Accords more than the 1998-2002 Accords they sold here in NA.

Then Honda redesigns the Accord for 2003, then I heard Honda was bringing over the new Euro Accord in the form of an Acura.
I looked at the new Accord Sedan before I looked at the Acura TSX, but the TSX won me over because of looks and performance, though the Accord EX-V6 sedan was about the same price as the 2.4L TSX. I am so glad I finally got rid of my 2000 Accord EX coupe!!! That horrid car!!! :ugh:

hey no prob.

Just a suggestion...get a cheap(er) car for med school and put the money saved towards tuition. Having just graduated from med school debt free, I'm glad I had a "cheap, used" car...

but whatever you do good luck

that was a great report. Very informative. I want to take a TSX out on a test drive. It does look much better in person. I think it should be interestiung to see how it drives with the 6-speed. I am not an automatic fan and if a car has the option, I go with manual all the way.

simple as it is; the US-ASIAN Honda Accord is made in Thailand; while the Japan- Euro Accord or Acura TSX or Honda Accord or Acura TSX, whatever, is made in Japan-UK; so why bother distinguishing the two when they should not be put side by side.... if you get what I mean..... Thailand.... Japan-UK...... heheeheheheh

The TSX is a better car than the US Accord I think. It is smaller and if you can live with this smaller size then it's a no-brainer. The TSX is also sold in smaller numbers and will hold its value better than an Accord.
