Couldn't find the link just yet but it was funny! And they actually thought someone was gonna pay it. Here's one link:

The reserve was not met even @ that price.

OK yeah, but who is worse...the person asking that price or the person who buys it @ that price? And I think I was wrong about my purchase price....I think it was 26,800...will recheck tonight.

The reason I say this is because I just customized a 325Ci off bmwusa.com with the same options that come on the Accord and it's already at 37k not to mention BMW markups that I've heard of. But even if there isn't a markup it's still anywhere from 5-7k more than a fully loaded Accord
On top of that it only has a 2.4l 184hp engine so I can't see it being as fast as the 3.0l 240hp Accord. Plus it's only a 5spd, not a big difference but it's worth mentioning I guess. Granted I know BMW's have great handling, but I can't rule the Accord out completely because I didn't get to push it in that aspect. You really get to make use of the engine in everyday driving, but not so much the handling in my opinion. How often do you go out to the twisties that would justify handling being an issue.
The reason I'm semi-against BMW is because you pay so much for the name. I think the reason I think the Accord is a great deal has to do with money being a big factor seeing as how I'm still in college. Maybe once I'm out of school making good money I'll think otherwise, but I hope not cause paying for a name doesn't float my boat

See, that is completely rediculous. I can get a BMW 325Ci for that price..... MUCH better handling, classic looks, hell its a BMW for pete's sake. There is no reason any Honda should be marked up. An Accord six speed is still an Accord. It's a Honda. It's an Accord. The second you drive it off the lot it's worth about 21,000 anyway (no car escapes the 20% depreciation hit -- that's off of sticker). So to pay a dime over sticker for any car short of a Lamborghini is ludacris. Anyone who does I have some ocean front property in Arizona to sell them.

i asked my dealer back in december about a mark-up and he said "no, we don't do not do that here." anyways i would wait till 2004 since they'll probably have more. look at the wrx. when that first came out dealers wouldn't budge from sticker, now they are giving them away.
at worst i will pay sticker for one in like 2005-2006(if it's still made) when i plan on getting rid of the hybrid. my dad knows the dealer so, all it takes is a phone call and the car will have a sold sign on it and no BS about the price.

ok here we go...looked at paperwork....
I paid 26,200 plus tax for my car, pics at http://sa.rochester.edu/aepi/Pics
My Car is automatic. However, as far as rarity goes, I found at least 5 6 speeds in the state, but only 3 autos w/nav, one of which was red, which I wanted.

O.K. Here's the deal. A 184 hp BMW will be almost as fast as a 240 hp Accord 6x6. How? Gearing, weight, perfect balance, and aerodynamics. BMW's have always been quick cars with relatively low hp and tq. You don't even bother with the engine numbers with BMW. The 330Ci with 195 hp is just a hair (less than .5 seconds) slower than the Acura CL-S six speed. And teh CL-S has 260 hp. Car and Driver did a head to head test with them about a year ago. Now, I am not the number one BMW fan. Fact is I do think they are over priced, a headache to maintain, and you can't use anything but genuine BMW parts right down to the rims and tires (if you want the stuff to last). But that is just the thing. The Accord six speed is still a Honda, so who in their right mind would pay BMW price for a Honda? BMW's keep their resale value because of the propeller on the hood. So, when you go to sell it, people are willing to pay a premium. Honda doesn't cary that panache. I thought the six speed handled great. Worth the sticker price. But it did not handle like a 325Ci. Heck. For the 32,000 you're better off getting a good deal on an Acura CL-S.60

The only reason we are comparing the Accord with BMW's is because you said the Accord was worth $32K.
Like I said, for $32K, my money is on a used 330i that looks better, handles better, is just as fast, and is more car for the money.
