Default Picked up my EX-V6 Coupe

I just picked up my 03 EX-V6 coupe, silver w/ graphite leather. So far, so good...i put about 200 miles on it this weekend. I cant wait till the break in period is done, i want to see what this vtec can do.

How many miles is the break in period and what exactly are you not supposed to do during this? Sorry, i'm not too familiar with the engine tech. I wan't to treat mine right when I get it.

The break in period is mostly a formality these days. You're supposed to not go into VTEC (3500+ RPMs), but since every Honda is redlined from the factory on a dyno to make sure it produces proper amounts of power, it is a non-issue these days. Engine tolerances are extremely tight. The only thing I wouldn't subject it to before 1500 or so miles would be sustained high speeds (90+ MPH) or racing (not street racing, race track racing)

Thanks man...the only mod i'll do right away is window tints. I'm definatly pickin up a V1 also...how is yours, i've heard nothing but good things about them

This is the first import i've ever had so i have to do some research on a possible intake, but i leased the car so i'm a little concerned about the warranty and that i'll be stuck with the parts when the lease is up.

Absolutely spectacular. Worth every penny. I've never gotten a moving violation in my 3+ years of owning her(I usually do 20 over or so, except for one time when I did 110 from the Mass border to Syracuse. Made it in 1:30 ), and I've sent it in for one factory upgrade at like $80. Other detectors may have slightly better range (I think two do), but the directional arrows of the Valentine are worth the extra price. Besides, what's the difference betwene detecting radar at 2 miles versus 3 miles? Plenty of time to slow down.

Just keep in mind that the V1 is a tool and not an end all be all...you can't do 130 all day and expect to not get caught. My driving habits have changed so much since I've gotten it...I'm so aware of how fast to go in towns versus on highways and where cops are likely to set up undetectable traps.

V1's are great. And a window tint is a must, I can't stand not having them.

Window tint = cuts down on radar detection range. No tint for me, I'd rather speed than look/be cool

Whats the usual detection range for the V1? How much will tints cut it down?
