on our odessey, the manual said it made 205hp on 87, 215hp on 91. they did that so they could advertise high power, while not "requiring" high octane fuel

That is DEFINITELY a result of improper cleaning, oiling, and installation. My uncle has been a mechanic for 40 years, and has had K&N's on every one of his own vehicles for the last 20. His work truck, a 1989 Chevy Blazer, has 175,000 miles on it and the original K&N. As well does his 1975 Covette and 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee. When used properly, K&Ns are the best. No arguement. I have seen the internals of his Blazer's engine when he put a performance cam in the 4.3. The old cam looked like new. Trust me. K&Ns work. Oh, and um, he also happens to be the fire leutennant for one of Cleveland's suburbs, and yes, they use K&Ns on all of their vehicles as well. Including the police cars.

Damn, that's all you need, a police car chasing you w/ performance mods of their own!
