Default Need a system and advice.

Yes I know this should be in the audio forum but I want it to get more exposure, so sorry if this causes any trouble.
Alright I Have a 98 accord coupe and im wanting to put some new sounds in when my next paycheck comes around. I was thinkin bout purchasing the pioneer 8400mp because its awsome looking and nothing else really intrigues me for the price... I saw it for like $369 plus $20 for shipping, is that a good deal? The headunit is the only thing id really like to splurge on.
Next thing I was thinkin bout was either 6.5s and 6x9s OR an amp and subwoofers.
I want something more superior to the factory honda speakers but for a budget so I found these...Infinity Reference 6952i for the 6x9s and Pioneer TS-G1647 for the 6.5s in the door... I wanna order them from crutchfield. Anyone have thoughts on these speakers?
I also want subs and an amp, but if I wanna get all this at once then I gotta sacrifice the pioneer headunit for somethin cheaper. I was thinkin bout getting 1 infinity kappa perfect 12" but not sure how good 1 sub will sound. I want the sub to hit hard for sure. I might get 2 of the perfects since they're about $130 each from ikes. Anyone recommend an amp for running 1 or 2 of those perfects? Should I just get the amp and subs and no speakers or should I get the speakers and no amp/sub.
If anyone can recommend anything for a good price that would be great. I really dont wanna spend more than $800 for the whole system. Im thinkin witht he HU and the speakers it will run about $550, but if I can get a good price on a good amp, that would be great. Oh btw my mind is kinda set on the kappa perfect 12s, but not sure if I should get 1 or 2.

Personally I wouldn't get Pioneer anything but you're working with a restricted budget so just bout anything's better then factory paper speakers. I think the Kappa Perfect's are a little overrated but if your mind's already set . Are you going to install it all yourself? Not to mention don't forget the box + amp + wiring included in your costs, tiny but the shit adds up..

Yea man im on a restricted budget for sure. The 6x9s and 6.5s id like to think I could install myself, but the amp and subwoofers I wont be able to, never done it before.
Plus the headunit, I dont think I can install that myself either.
Should I Just get 1 perfect or 2 perfects? Recommend a good amp too? btw if you have a suggestion on some other subs for a good price, say away . Ill reply later, gotta go to work now !

Pioneer makes nice HU's, but thats about it. If your on a budget, go with that HU, thats a really nice one and thats a really really nice price. As far as apeakers, check out Blaupunkt, they are excellent, and beat out most more expensive speakers, on the non component side. IMO subs are pointless, unless you get like 1 10", but don't be cheap on subs.

BTW, if you buy your HU from Crutchfield, you can definitely install it yourself, they give you everything you need and great instructions.

The amp and sub's are easy
-run a seperate power from the battery to the trunk (red)
-there is a blue line line from the HU (the remain) run that to the trunk
-the ground (black) drill a hole in the trunk (make sure the gas tank is not below), and screw the wire there.
After that, piece of cake, connect red to red/blue to blue/black to black on the amp. Run the wires to your sub.
Note: 1 12" sub is good enuff, as long as its in a bandpass box.
I used to have Orion XTR, but i fried it, JL audio or Kickers are Fierce !, oh, spend the xtra $$$ on the HU, I dunno what ur budget is but you can get one with a built in LCD as well.

Good Luck

yea, don't go cheap on the subwoofer or amp or you'll regret it. Sure it'll beat but it'll sound nasty. I personally think crutchfield is way over-priced, theres alotta good stores online but crutchfield is plug n play speaker...I used to want a kappa perfect but for the price there are better subs IMO

actually i haven't bought my honda yet, still looking for the body. but i'm gonna change them out to MB Quart Comp sets when I get it. Some of the stock Honda systems do beat though, I had a friend with an 94 accord special ed. and it had a Bose system(back in the days of tape players) + a mini amp, bitch beat hard :jerkit:
