Default Mesh Grills

Hey,
anyone ever buy or heard of anything on one of these mesh grills on Ebay? One's an upper and the other is the lower grill.

I don't want to end up with some crappy grill that doesn't quite fit right. The lower grill is from some company called Grille-tech. They've been selling their mesh on ebay for a while. I like that they have a plastic liner around the mesh.

Any comments or alternative suggestions would be helpful.

that first one you posted yeah like you said its just a type-r style grill for the 6th gen coupes, , the mesh really isnt that special, if its like the mesh on the type-r style grill i bought for my fifth gen its not really strong at all if thats what your lookin for. but when i custom made my second grill i used gutterguards, and that was a nice mesh and much stronger. So really if you just want to mesh your upper grill go with some gutter guard cause its cheaper. about that lower grill, i dunno, i never thought they really served a purpose or looked that great, but its up to you, you might be able to go the gutterguard route and save a few bucks.

The thing is, I want a black grill. I don't know of any paint that will stick to aluminum or steel without chipping easily. My accord is black and I don't like the silver grills but the black ones are just subtle enough not to be ugly. I agree with you that the grills don't always look good but I think the black ones would be nice. I like the lower because they say it goes over stock and theirs no cutting or drilling so I can just take it off any time, and they are supposedly made from 18 guage, powder coated steel.

Sounds like the upper grill may be a piece of junk. Maybe I'll just get the lowers for now?

I'd do the DIY grill it would save a good bit of money. Maybe you could take it to a shop and have it painted professionally and it would hold better? :dunno:

get a good heat paint it will stick. sticks to motors very well. should hold up on your grill. and with mine it was DIY bolt on. I can remov it anytime in just a few mins. I dod however cut the center out of my stock grill. but it was fawke dup anyways.

I have to get a new bumper all together since mine got cracked in the wreck.

I did the mesh thing myself onto my stock grill a long time ago. I got some mesh from home depot, cut it out and clear coated it. And then I just sandwiched it in. It was a tight fit but I got tired of the look.

Sounds like DIY is the best way to go and it sounds like everyone gets sick of the look pretty fast.

I'll check out Home Depot this weekend. Any idea what where I can get Heat Paint or who can do it for me?

Thanks.

Yes, pics would be cool.
I just picked up a wiring set for OEM fog lights so I may just throw driving lights down there instead. Maybe a mesh behind it. UGLY?
