Default Are normal 194 bulbs or LED bulbs brighter?

I was thinking of replacing my normal 194 Polarg Hyper white bulbs with 194 LED bulbs. Are they brighter? If anyone has seen them in action please let me know. Thanks.

The bulbs I was thiking about getting can be found at
autodynamic.com

I was thinking about getting the 194 LED bulbs with 4 LEDs per bulb. They say they're bright but are they brighter than normal filaments?

In a halogen housing which you have don't put LED bulbs since the light is more focused and won't light up the housing. Its like a mini mag light. These are the white ones they sell at www.autodynamic.com they are bright at certain angles but the light doesn't spread.

LED's generally are brighter and draw less current. The main issue is that LED's tend to produce a much narrower field of light. I currently have PIAA LED bulbs on my integra, on the corner of my tail lights. I purchased mine from autotoys.com. They are brighter, more white light, that should never burn out. YET, they do produce a more focused beam of light.

i read if you want the LEDS to have a less concentrated pattern and to spread the light out more to file the ends flat on them, and keep it alittle rough, i think illusion did this for his led dash conversion and it worked well... also autozone has a 194 bulb its acutally 4 leds together, i was happy with mine

Thanks MasterChris for the pics. Those are the exact bulbs I was looking at. I have the same Euro clear housing as well. Hrmm, they do look like they would be bright from a head on perspective but you're right, they don't illuminate the housing very well.

Your welcome. I have a pair that I picked up in Taiwan cause they were like $8 USD. And I was testing them to see what it looked like. I wasn't pleased.

I would definitely go with the normal filament bulbs... they will actually light up your corner so that your car can be seen rather than producing a small beam of light into the air beside your car... Plus I think they are generally brighter anyways.

I still prefer LED's, they last longer and pull less current.
