Default CAI or Modified air box?

I have an 03 ex v6 and i was wondering what would be cheapest to get a little sound and power. Should i just get a pvc pipe and/or cut a hole in the air box or should i get a CAI. Only reason i wanna do this is because i dont want to spend a lot. Give me your thoughts.

cheapest way = crappiest way. you'll just want to/ have to redo it later

agreed 100%
Go with the best first, it will save you money in the long run. I suggest AEM.

if you're that desperate for some mods, just take out the resonator for now. Atleast it will give u some "sound". Plus, you're going to have to take it off when you install intake anyways, so you have a win-win situation here.
