Resale value manual vs. auto
#11
if you plan on modding your car then resale with an auto is crap since people who want modded car generally want 5sp. when i was going to trade in my car in before my swap they told me it would go directly to auction cause it was auto, but if it was 5sp they would try to sell it.

You know what man, no matter which car you get, you're going to be disappointed with what you can get for it. I think the bigger problem you might have with a manual is time to find a buyer. As the others have said, those that are looking specifically for a manual won't necessarily pay less...they're just few and far between.
This is what I say; don't worry about it. Get what you'll enjoy the most; I think in the long run, you won't regret a manual. I think you WILL regret buying an auto...at every stoplight and in every passing situation...because the day you bought it you were afraid you'd get a couple hundred less for it down the road.

Take if from me. I sold my Z two years ago and it was a manual. It was a pain in the butt. Most people don't want one, especially women, though I'm sure there are some that do. If I could have my car manual right now, I'd switch, but thats b/c I won't be selling for another few years so I don't really care.

The more I think about it, I don't want to look at this purchase as being that temporary. I think I want it decked out with the spoiler, 17" wheels, fogs, etc. I'd maybe even consider an exterior mod or two, as long as it's not drastic. That said, I'm leaning towards buying this car now and forget about leasing. I'll get my money's worth that way and enjoy it better during the entire time I drive it. But how will the 5-speed 4cyl drive is the question. Will the 160hp engine feel underpowerd? My sister has a '94 EX Auto and it is peppy, but it has to work very hard. The '03 V6 I test drove was very smooth, but the handling can't compare to my old 325i, Maxima, Jetta or my A6. But that comparison is somewhat out of whack...

www.clubtsx.com I really didn't think it would be out by April... since when have next year cars come out that early? But I guess it's possible... It will be an '04 right? Either way you would love a TSX over an Accord for sportyness by far!
