Default 1990 Accord questions

i recently got a 1990 honda accord, it's my first car, and im 16. low budget, you know. so, anyways, what OEM alloy wheels would fit on this car? did any accords from this generation come with the clear top red bottom tails? ive seen some on accords that are owned by people who aren't the types to buy those tails special, so i was wondering if they were and option and on which accords i could find them. if anyone has any ideas for cheap performance mods, i'd like to hear them.

Nope 50/50's tails are about 150 bucks on ebay, they no longer make them either....

Any year accord rims will fit on the car except the V6 line.....our bolt pattern is 4x114.3

Cheaps mods....There really is no such thing....I/H/E and drop will get you going in the right place....

pre-90 wheels will not fit... and 95-97 V6 wheels will fit... as well as 97-99 Acura CL wheels. I suggest the 94-95 EX 7-spoke wheels (15 inch), those can be found pretty cheap and look rather nice on the 4th gens... the proper tire size would be 195/60-15 I believe.

A cheaper version of the tails you want would be to buy full clear tail lights, and get transparent red paint (hobby shop) and paint the bottom half... does not look nessecarily as nice as an actual red lens... but it does the trick, and from a distance you cannot tell. If you do a good job painting them and buff the paint when its done, you may get a pretty close match.

You can find decent Cold Air Intakes on eBay for about $40-$50... just try to find one with real mounting points so it does not rattle around. If you have a DX or LX model (which im assuming you do since you're looking for stock wheels) you can get an exhaust manifold from an EX or SE and gain a couple hp. A more free flowing exhaust will also free up some hp... www.impactparts.com has full stainless steel systems for around $300.

You cant really expect too much with a low budget (trust me, I know how it is, it sucks!) but if you look in the right places are are willing to do things yourself, you can get some decent gains for not a lot of money! Not having to pay for instalation of things saves a LOT!

Good luck with the car... my second car was a 1990 Accord EX... had 290kmi on it when I sold it, and it still ran strong!
