Default New Geek Toy?

I saw this thing on Tech TV today. It seems kinda neat, tho a little pricey. I've yet to find an application list, but from what I can tell it works with any ODBII car.

Just thought I'd share

it's basically a datalogging chip that you plug into your car, then take out later and plug into your USB port to pull the information off. Kinda neat, but I dunno if I'd pay $170 for the one that's actually useful.

screw that. I just attended a demonstration of one of the senior design projects in the electrical and computer systems department of our engineering school. They are building one that does the same thing and runs wireless on a PDA. I suppose its cool but whats coming is better. . . GO UMASS ECE, lol.

Doesn't sound like it's worth it, but interesting nonetheless.
