Just wondering if it would be a good idea to get turbo as my first 03' accord coupe ex manual mod?

I don't think it's a good idea to get a turbocharger on any new car. It stresses the internals and is obviously gonna void all warranties. And obviously this'd have to be a custom turbo done at a shop, because the car has only been out for 6 months and the engine is a brand new design.

If you feel your car is so inadequetly powered and you have all this dinero to throw at a custom turbo, why the hell didn't you buy a 350Z or G35 Coupe? :eh:

I don't think that would be to smart. For one, your going to lose your warrenty. Two your going to have to have a custom made kit $$$. You should start smaller and work your way up.

Its your car though man, if you got the $$ to throw around anything is possible. Good luck.

nah........mos def not a cool idea. You bought an accord for it to be a reliable, daily driver that eats little gas and still offers the luxury. If you wanted a fast car, u shoulda went for a wrx or mustang GT or RSX-S, etc. I dunno what you mean by fast, but to tell u the truth, i think the new k24 engines are pretty darn impressive. When i drove my gf's 4 door ex, i was so impressed by the throttle response and low-mid range torque. It performs like a V6. If i didnt no jack shiet about the accord, i would think its a V6. So would most people.

If you want to mod your Accord, I'd throw money at the suspension first. I can't see a turbo on an accord with stock suspension. Springs, struts, (or full coilover system) maybe sways, etc would be my first choice. Then some nice wheels. Then if you have money for turbo and want to do it, go for it, it'd be sweet.

Good luck.
And welcome to the board.

Not a good idea at all as was said before.

No warranty coverage plus the fact that the engine really should be built for the addition of turbo to the car.

You can add it without but I have seen more than one car end up with blown heads, thrown rods, spun bearings, or just plain destroyed engine because they didn't build the engine accordingly.

But then you can do what you want after all its your money.
