Right. I would prefer not to lay down 2 or 3 grand for factory defects that have TSB's put on em a couple months after I put a turbo on.

Folks that have to ask "Should I get a turbo as my first mod" usually aren't fully aware of the gravity of what they propose.

You could blow up your motor. You will forego your warranty. You will still need new wheels, brakes, tires, shocks, springs, clutch and other suspension goodies to make it remotely safe to drive.
IF this is an auto your tranny will soon be trailing you home like Hansel and Gretel's breadcrumbs.

I hope this is for a V6 for maximal power gains.....

I have no probs with person that is serious about going FI trying to be the first. Most of us cowards need a daring pioneer to try this out. I don't think he should have bought another car. Its always cool to make the "underdog" faster, its just easier to roll with a champ.

Hah. The car isn't even broken in and you want to add a turbo? What, praytell, are you trying to accomplish? You appearanty have the 4 cylinder 5-speed. EX model, w/o leather is about 22,000. For parts, labor, and time to modify a turbo to fit your engine (since they don't have one yet) will cost about 5 grand all together. Now, you will yield mabe an extra 60 hp, so that puts you at 220. 220 hp for 27,000. Hmmm..... you can buy a six speed V6 with 240 hp for 26,500. With many more features than your model, much better suspension tuning, and some decent rubber. Shoulda thought about this before buying what you have.

 

You are referring to the automatic transmission problems on the 6th gen AV6? If so, then it is far worse. Do you have a point here or what? I don't see any.

and good luck gettin the V6 six-speed. most dealers are only getting 1 of them. the dealer i bought my car from is getting 4 of them and all 4 of them are already sold and they dont even come in for 2 more months. and $26,500 would just be leather. its $29,300 fully loaded

 

Honda has said dealers are getting 1-2 six speeds this quarter. And once again, you're an idiot if you pay MSRP for it...it ain't an S2000. Your last sentence is very misleading...the first figure is EX-V6 (just leather? yeah...) and the second figure is EX-V6with Navi. They're going to be fairly easy cars to purchase as long as you look around....demand for them won't be incredibly high like it was with the S2000. It's still an Accord, with a superior car priced a few grand above it.

 

have fun paying the insurance of the S2000 and driving it in the snow. yeah its nicer than the accord but its not very practical for most people. if you have a family good luck gettin 4 people in the S2000. an S2000 is a car for people that have a lot of money to spend and can afford to have another car or they dont have any kids. while the accord covers both of that. you dont need another car to drive around, you dont pay ridiculous insurance, and you can go pick up the kids in it. if it snows and your only car is an S2000, youre gonna be sitting at home until the snow melts, while you could be out doing whatever if you had an accord
