Default Need Input - What does TL provide over Accord? (more)

I am trying to compile a list that the 2003 TL has over the 2003 Accord EX V6.

This is what I have so far and would like to have input from others on things I may have missed.

HID lights
Fog lights
Bose Sound
12000 miles longer warranty
Driver Seat Memory

Thanks again, I look forward to finding out if and what else I've not thought of.

I used acura's website and did a comparison to the accord to get the above listing. The above list "may" be the whole list, but I was hoping to run it past ya'll & see if their was anything else I missed. on the list above, correction to be made is its 14,000mile longer instead of 12,000...

Please don't post the same question in two different forums if possible.

Here is my answer from the TL forum:

Better engine, SportShift transmission, better looks, better resale value, better dealership service, bigger in all aspects, two 12V outlets, Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA), nicer fit and finish...it's basically a nicer Accord, but it's way more than that. You need to test drive both to see if the price difference on the TL is worth it.

Keep in mind there is a brand new redesigned TL (It hasn't changed much since 1999) coming out in Fall 2003, and the Accord is a brand new model...so the Accord has much of Honda's newest technology

There are also many things the Accord has that the TL doesn't (yet).

20 extra horsepower (Type-S)

.2 L extra displacement.

More interior room.

Nicer looking styling (IMO)

Possibly a better handling suspension.

I believe seat memory also includes mirror positions?

17 inch rims stock (Type-S)

I've kinda come down to this then...and I do agree it is harder to compare the new 2003 accord to the "old" TL. It will be much easier to figure out when "new" TL comes out.

I was using Edmunds TMV price & then added tax for both 2003 Accord EX V6 Sedan and for 2003 Acura TL Sedan. and I came up with $3356 difference. Below is what I've justified as the prices for the "upgrades" so far. Still 2000$ difference that I haven't placed yet... Honda helped themselves a lot by making heated seats =) as that was another 500$ in my mind. I've left out subjective matters and was just going by materials and features.

HID lights (500$)
Fog lights (250$)
Bose Sound (250$)
14000 miles longer warranty (218$)
Driver Seat Memory (100$)

2038$ still left to figure out premium... like i said, this will be much easier to figure out come Fall/Winter. I think that I'll be able to name a lot more with a price come that time and it may only be a 500-1000$ premium.

Hope my jibberish isn't too confusing.

I don't think it's easy if at all possible to add memory seats to the Accord. My rents older 99 TL has power seats, but no memo. I inquired before what it would take, and it goes far beyond just putting some switch inline with the seat buttons.

As far as HID, you won't get nearly as perfect a beam pattern in the Accord, even with a retrofit kit as you will with the stock hid lights.

Just some thoughts. I really like the new Accord alot, but it's so pricey, that it's hard to ignore the TL and CL which are nearly the same price as the loaded Accord.

Prez808, I wasn't really thinking of "how much it would cost to add to accord" I was more inlines of "their is 3350$ difference right now....what am i getting for the 3350$ in materials & features" The closer I get the 3350$ in upgraded materials/features, the more inclined I am in purchasing an Acura over the Honda...It'll be easier to decide I suppose when they release the new TL...

You can't look at it that way. You didn't even read my post...the TL has much more than those things over the Accord. Have you considered an Accord EX-V6 with Navi?
