how would this car compare to a 97 prelude? will it be close or will the prelude smoke the i4 accord?

 

The Prelude would whip its ass. By quite alot if it was a 5 speed, and by a good margin if it was the SportShift automatic.

 

um.........i disagree with that. 2 of my friends own 99 prelude automatic (sport shiftronics) and my accord whips their ass like a mofo. By like 3 car lengths everytime in the 1/4 race. Never has there been a time when any of them beat me. Im def sure that thas not the story if their cars were 5 speeds, but i can beat their 200 hp auto every single time, no exceptions.

 

And your car is stock?

 

only prokit drop and nothing else. But when i went to the track the other day, a 98 prelude 5 speed with bolt on mods raced me and i got raped up the a$$ like by 6 car lengths. Thas weird....maybe the auto tranny of the prelude is the reason. But every time i race the newest gen ludes (AUTO), i can win with ease.

 

Their SportShift tranny is known for slow shifting and lots of reliability problems. I would never race with one, it blows.

 

yea, probably so because when i drive their car and use the shift tronic, the gear engagement is frekin notchy as heck and i feel something holding the car back. Its just really damn horrible. What a f*ckin waste of a damn good H22A motor. tsk tsk.

 

You might have taken a V6 accord off guard but the car is definantly faster than your 4cyl 5-Speed no exceptions. I have had several experiances with my old 01 Accord V6 vs my cousins 99 Accord Coupe 4cyl 5-speed and won every time by 3-4+ car lengths @ 80mph.
