Okay I have a 1998 Honda Accord sedan. Have all of my headlights as Sylvania Silverstars. I just made the conversion about 5 minutes ago and have some questions.

First of all, the lights are about TWICE as bright. Even in the daytime, so I cant imagine how bright theyre going to be at night.

Second of all the 9006s didnt fit into the high beams all that well. There are 3 groves, and only 1 groove would fit in. Theyre in there pretty secure, but is this a problem?

Also, are people are to be flashing me their brights b/c they think I have mine on?

BTW all I did was etch out the little plastic grooves with a razor.

ALSO---with the 9006s as my high beams, are they going to be much dimmer?

 

well I believe so since the shoe cap their blocks some light place the proper light into there which is 9005

As far as the high beam flashes not many people flash high beams anymore even if they are blinded so you won't really know if you are blinding people you can tell if you watch the cabin of other people they will prolly look at you funny or you may light it up

 

Yeah I dont think it should terribly blind people. I know that when I first got PIAA Xtreme Whites it wasnt even DRAMATIC I didnt think, Silverstars were just as good or brighter, and people were flashing their brights then.

 

I just read something about the 9006 and it not fitting into the high-beam socket correctly.

I am wondering will this cause problems when it comes to water getting in there? I mean they have never been SUPER like air-tight etc., at least I dont think.

You shouldn't really have to re-aim them if all you did was switch bulbs....even if you switched to 9005.

If you do need adjustment for some reason, check your owner's manual. It's easy. All you need is a flat head screwdriver, a wall to shine your lights on can help as well.

 

Monstar... not only do you have to modify the plugs on the headlights... but you have to modify the bases... the parts with the prongs that go into your headlight backing. You have to cut off one of the protrusions or something... I have a link at my house I will post it later.

 

I've never modified the bases...and I've had this going for a year and a half, with a couple different bulbs. Mine fit fine.
