same here, i bought mine off ebay. it came with, the intake, all the necessary connectors and clamps, the vacum hose, and a rubber mounting screw thingy to fasten it to the stock mount location. took me at most ten minutes to install. it really doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure it out.

I can't agree more. Take it from me who has taken a fluid dynamics class. The material from AEM, etc. might be better or slightly thicker, who cares, its effect is minimal. As long as the thing doesn't break into two pieces it shouldn't matter. If the interior diameter of the tube is the same, then they should give you almost the same performance given that you use the same filter. Go with K&N and the generic.

Also, if you think that AEM etc. might be smoother inside, the distance from the filter to the end of the CAI is so short that both brands shouldn't induce be more turbulence than the other.

Also weight if you care. I know The Polished AEM CAI are really light. Im not sure about Ebay. But usally when You buy cheap products, they are usally heavy. But I guess that Doesent matter if you are just looking for some sound/performance/looks.

yep, my polished AEM is light. but the weight difference won't affect anything.

All I can say is that it is your car... you should love it and buy it the best... Are you going to give your child a Geo Metro because it will get him/her around? Do you only eat beans and hamburger meat because it fills you up the same? etc. etc. I love my car and I only want the best!

Not a good analogy bro. If there was a car out there that looked exactly like a Honda Accord, ran just like it, everything was the same except the badging was different and it costed 5g's less, id get that car instead of the honda cause it's the same thing but I save alot more money. That's a better analogy:thumbup:

dude, if you can't figure out how to slap an intake on your car on your own then you don't need to be modifying it.

neither of your analogies hold any weight. why do you insist that it's better to buy a name brand CAI when a generic intake produces the same gains for a quarter of the cost? it makes no sense. a CAI is a CAI. they are all the same. don't you think it's funny that you're the only one here preaching AEM, injen, etc... there's a pretty goo explanation for it. they are all the same.

:werd: and :werd:

I only paid $20 for my used 2 piece CAI and it gives the same gains as the ones people paid $200 for. After checking it out, I don't think it's an AEM like the sticker says, does AEM make a polished intake?
