Samson brings up a good point. Your car only looks as new as it is clean. A well kept '94 Accord could easily look more modern and sophisticated than a dirty '00 Accord.

Evolution - Maybe you should spice up the looks a bit. A totally stock Accord can come across a little bland.

It's lowered. All the mods are unseen (front strut, front sway, rear sway, Comptech CAI). h: I had Comptech exhausts but I sold them.

I think Accords have been through a lot of changes in the last two generations. To someone who doesn't follow these changes they could be looking at a Pontiac Grand Am for all they know. Don't sweat it she may have seen something specific on your car the reminds her of something else.
Remember the Civics that looked a little like BMWs?

Hey V6master does your wife have a sister? It's hard to find someone who even wants to understand it. Don't even get me started about Football. Here I am taking dancing lessons.

Watch yourself. Yes, most girls don't. I've been interested in cars since I was 13, but didn't start seriously until I bought my car back in April. I'm nowhere near an expert, but I'm far from newb. I love catching guys off guard. One time I went into Home Depot to put together something when I removed my antenna, and when they didn't have exactly what I was envisioning the guy was like, "why don't you look in the phone book and find a place that does the fast and furious type cars. They might have it." Then I just smiled and said, "yeah, that's the kind of car I have." I love it.

When me and my buddy copped our accords in Nov. '99, I came to the conclusion that my '97 Accord wasn't much shorter at all than his '00 Special Edition.

I think it's just that ridiculously high azz-ed trunk shiit that they did to the 5th gens that made them look so small.

I absolutely tried to avoid a 5th gen accord b/c of that high azz and short look. I wanted a '93 Black EX 5-spd with spoiler and sun visor soooooooo bad. But those could not be found on any Honda dealership lot AND my credit wasn't that good so I had to get something new enough to be financed through Honda Finance.

When they said they had a '97 EX 5-spd in black, I couldn't resist. I fell in love instantly!

From www.Edmunds.com:
Exterior: - 1997 Accord EX Sedan

Length: 188.4 in.
Width: 70.1 in.
Height: 55.3 in.
Weight: 3020 lbs.
Wheel Base: 106.9 in.

Exterior: - 2000 Accord EX

Length: 188.8 in.
Width: 70.3 in.
Height: 56.9 in.
Weight: 3064 lbs.
Wheel Base: 106.9 in.
Ground Clearance: 6.2 in.

Not much difference, huh? 5th Gen is actually only 0.4 inches shorter!

Part of it is the body style, too. In general, the coupes look WAAY longer than the sedans because of the way the doors are. ESPECIALLY the 5th gens. At least that's my opinion.

The only diss on my car I ever had came from an Asian chick at a local car club meet (all makes and models)

Some people were standing around looking at my car and I casually walked up like another onlooker wanting to overhear any comments on my car (they didn't know it was mine.) I hear this girl say as she walks away to go look at other cars. "I don't like it." I was kinda surprised and a bit hurt by that comment so I wanted to find out exactly why she didn't like my car. I subtley intercepted her as she was walking away and asked non-chalantly "What don't you like about it?" still acting like it wasn't my car. "It's not my style, I don't like the shape of it." she sneered as she walked away. I was kinda stunned and glared at her as she walked away. Some of the other people standing around figured out from the look on my face that I was the owner and told me "Don't worry about it man. Your car's tight. What the hell does she know other than BMW's?"
Sure enough she was there with someone driving an M3.

Jasonh1234, don't sweat it man. Maybe she doesn't like that model no matter what you do to it. Not your problem, can't please everyone, someone's always a critic. At least she wasn't there with some dude with a Ford Fiesta saying she doesn't like your car. That would hurt.
Plus, if she is so impressed by her boyfriend's BMW she should get to work and buy her own. All things equal, I can't say "how do ya like me, my best friend drives a CLK." So what!

Do it for yourself not for them.

peace.
