i think doing anything to the intake short of a CAI system isnt worth the time, effort or money. i took my resonator off and all i got was a little more noise. i never noticed the 1 or 2 hp. at that point i put it back on. i really dont believe in short ram intakes because all they do is suck in hot air from the engine bay. so unless you got a cold air system, anything else is a waste.

But then again, some people arent lookin for power..they're lookin for noise..and i see noise as annoying if u dont have the power to back it. I'm tired of seeing farting neons, civics, and accords! I know i dont know whats under the hood on these cars but the chance that the exhaust is the only mod is very high! There arent very many h22 accords or b17 civics runnin around. If i ever did a h22 swap, i'd prolly buy the quietest exhaust system i could buy, not nice to give away ur "goods", especially before a race!

as long as you drive somewhat careful in the rain you are ok. the intake part is so high up in that fender anyway you gotta go thru some pretty nasty **** to clog it up.

BTW, Honda charges 2 dollars for a pack of 10 of those little screws that yhold the fender lining on. I know this for a fact cause i bought some. And if you do take out the fender lining, it would be a good Idea to replace those old screws with new ones

 

hhhmm....when i callled honda they said $2 for EACH..maybe they got it backwards or not readin the comp screen right.

depends were you live man. you're in georgia, and some of us are in socali where it barely rains. basically, remove at your discretion, and drive SAFELY!

 

If u want a cai, then you are gonna have to remove the resinator. Removing the resinator is easy, the only thing u need to do to make removing it easier is just to jack up the front of the car a little bit so you can get to the bolts easier. Its either that of to remove you whole front bumper all together. My .02 If you live in an area that has a lot of rain, Getting and AEM bypass vavle isn't a bad idea either. Then again, avoiding big puddles would be a good idea too :naughty:

 

how do those bypass valves work? Are they "full proof"? Say if i go into a lake....will my engine shut off before water "inhalatioin"? just a "worst case scenario" there.

The bypass vavle only will prevent hydra-lock, not stop it. Its more for like one of those "O Sh_T, i didn't see the puddle." situations where it come in handy. Fool proof no... more like for the idiot who thought thier car could float in the water with their tires protection.
